Abbey Dutton
ABOUT
Born and raised on the Canadian prairies and lovingly imbued with a mix of creativity, intellect and ambition, Abbey has been an entrepreneurial artist from the moment she entered this world. Her father swears that she sang along with him within hours of her birth. Her mother says she couldn’t stop her from putting together wacky, colourful outfits as a toddler. As a teen she regularly and happily declined parties and events with the excuse “I can’t, I have dance”.
Having graduated with Honours from the Canadian College of Performing Arts, she later danced with Harbour Dance Centre’s Intensive Training Program and then The Source Dance Company. She has since gone on to work independently and commercially with various Vancouver production companies as a dancer, actor and vocalist on both stage and screen. Having performed in film, television, musicals, dance shows, music videos, indie short films and more, some of her select credits include: iZombie, The Detour, Disney, The Hallmark Channel, BC Dairy, Virgin Atlantic Airlines, the 99th Grey Cup with Nickelback, Conair, Asus, Del Taco, Mobify Mobile Shopping, Acuvue, PlentyofFish.com and more.
The ups and downs of the artistic lifestyle have taken Abbey on a soul searching journey that she never expected. Let’s just be honest, pursuing a career as a professional performer is not for the faint of heart - often taxing our mental health, body image and bank accounts. Out of necessity due to her own struggles, while continuing to audition, perform and teach, she began to place more and more focus on mental, physical and spiritual health. Little did she know this path would be revealing, challenging and ultimately freeing. The change she has seen in herself over the last four years has inspired her to educate herself to help other artists free themselves from similar struggles. In Summer 2017, she became a certified Pure Barre Instructor, in February of 2020 she completed her Yoga Alliance 200 hour RYT certification, and as of July 2021, she is enrolled in Rhodes Wellness College's Life Coach Diploma Program. This is only the beginning. It is her greatest wish to help other artists, creators and humans work through their own blocks, find their true passions and live their fullest, healthiest and most vibrant lives.
She truly believes, that if you “restore the human within”, you will “bring creativity to life”.
